Each month, we hold a workshop that consists of a "Question and Answer" session on any computer issues followed by a talk on a current computer topic. The presentations will be on the first Tuesday of the month, beginning at 2:00 p.m., in the meeting room at the Ewing Community Center, 999 Lower Ferry Road. The program, which is free and open to the public, will be preceded at 1:30 p.m. by an open question and answer session during which audience members will be invited to present their computer questions. No prior registration is required.
Need a ride? Today, almost anywhere, all you need to get one is your smart phone, tablet or computer. But how do these ride services work?
On Thursday, June 8, Monica Cepak, Head of Marketing for Lyft New Jersey, will present “How to Use Smart Phone Ride Services,” the latest in the Computer Learning Center’s “Computer Tips and Tricks” series. The program, which is presented free of charge as a public service, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, in the Ewing Senior and Community Center at 999 Lower Ferry Road. It will be preceded at 1:30 p.m. by “Q’s and A’s with the CLC Faculty” during which the audience can address specific computer questions to the faculty. No prior registration is required.
Cepak likes to describe her presentation as “The Lyft 101 Overview.” “First, we’ll look at how Lyft works, how to call a ride in real time, and how to evaluate a price estimate. We will also look at how Lyft picks its drivers, including background checks and other criteria. But most importantly, we will examine the benefits of using ride share to improve mobility and a sense of independence, so important to seniors, no matter whether you need to get to the grocery store or the doctor’s office. The audience will also learn how to schedule a Lyft ride in advance, such as to the airport, up to seven days in advance.”
Monica Cepak is a global-minded, multilingual marketer, with experience in brand building and in leading cross-functional marketing teams for Fortune 500 tech companies such as Samsung, AOL, LinkedIn, Cannon and HP, experience she draws on today as Head of Marketing for Lyft New Jersey.
